Cricket Betting at mcw 365 — all major markets from BPL to T20 World Cup
Cricket is the most popular sport in Bangladesh — and mcw 365 offers markets across all formats of the game. T20, ODI or Test — every match has multiple markets, easy-to-understand odds and the option of live betting.
T20, ODI and Test — how betting differs across three formats
Cricket's three formats — T20, One Day International (ODI) and Test — each have a somewhat different style of betting. T20 is the fastest: the match ends in just 20 overs, so odds move quickly and live betting opportunities are greatest. ODI is a bit longer — the 50-over game involves more strategic decisions, so betting markets shift even mid-innings. Test cricket is a five-day game where a draw is also a possible result — so this format has three outcomes.
In terms of tournaments, BPL is the most eagerly followed tournament among cricket fans in Bangladesh. Beyond that, IPL is popular worldwide as India's franchise tournament, and passion runs highest for the Bangladesh Tigers in the T20 World Cup and ICC international series. Betting markets for all these tournaments are available at mcw 365.
Football and other sports markets are also available at mcw 365 — these are covered briefly in the later sections of this page.
Betting on Football and Other Sports
Alongside cricket, football — especially European leagues and international tournaments — is also popular for betting. Football generally has three outcomes: team A wins, team B wins, or a draw. In T20 cricket there is no draw — one team must win — so only two outcomes are available to bet on.
Sports such as tennis, badminton or kabaddi also have specific markets, but the variety of markets is less than in cricket. Cricket can have dozens of markets — from the toss through to runs in the final over — which makes cricket betting particularly varied.
Betting is always for entertainment — it is not a guaranteed source of income. Read the responsible gaming guidelines and enjoy within your own budget.

The most popular markets in cricket
In a cricket match you can bet on questions such as which team will win, how many runs will be scored, and who will be the top batsman. The most familiar markets are summarised below.
Match Winner
Which of two teams will win — this is the simplest market. Example: team A and team B are playing — you think team B will win, so you bet on team B. If team B wins at the end of the match, your bet is successful.
Toss Winner
You can bet on which team will win the toss before the match begins. This is entirely luck-based, so odds are usually similar for both teams.
Top Batsman
Which batsman will score the most runs in an innings or across the whole match — this market has multiple options. Each player in the team has a separate set of odds.
Total Runs Over/Under
Whether more (over) or fewer (under) runs will be scored than a specified number — in this market the total runs matter, not which team scores them. For example, if a T20 match has a line of 160 runs, you can say the total will be above or below that.
Top Wicket Taker
Which bowler will take the most wickets — this is also a popular market. On a batting-friendly pitch the result of this market can be uncertain, which may lead to higher odds.
Multi Bet (Multiple Selections)
The outcomes of several matches or markets are combined into a single bet — if all are correct the total return is much higher, but if any one is wrong the entire bet is lost. Detailed multi bet calculations are available on mcw 365 Bet.
Handicap and Over/Under Markets: In a handicap market, one team is given a notional advantage or disadvantage to balance the market. For example, a handicap of −1.5 runs given to team A means team A must win by a specific margin for the bet to succeed — simply winning is not enough.
Decimal, Fractional and American — three types of odds
The same probability of a team winning can be written in three different formats. The examples below explain all three — the numbers are for illustration only and are not a promise of any outcome.
Example 1 — Team A to win (stake ৳200)
| Format | Odds | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 2.25 | Total return including stake is 2.25 times |
| Fractional | 5/4 | ৳5 profit for every ৳4 staked |
| American | +125 | ৳125 profit on a ৳100 bet |
If team A wins on a ৳200 bet you receive ৳450 back (৳250 profit + ৳200 original stake). If team A loses, ৳200 is gone.
Example 2 — Team B to win (favourite)
| Format | Odds | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 1.50 | Total return including stake is 1.5 times |
| Fractional | 1/2 | ৳1 profit for every ৳2 staked |
| American | −200 | You need to stake ৳200 to make ৳100 profit |
If team B wins on a ৳200 bet you receive ৳300 back (৳100 profit + ৳200 original stake). The favourite has lower odds — so the return is lower too.
American minus odds (−) and plus odds (+): Plus (+) means how much profit on a ৳100 bet; minus (−) means how much you need to stake to make ৳100 profit. Decimal odds are the most commonly seen format in Bangladesh.
In-Play Betting — odds shift the moment a wicket falls
Live or in-play betting means you can place bets even after the match has started. In cricket, odds change after every wicket, every big six or dot ball — because the market analyses the situation at that moment and sets a new number.
For example: at the start of the match the odds for team A and team B were close. But if team A loses three wickets in the first five overs, their chance of winning drops — so team A's odds go up and team B's odds come down. If at that moment you believe team A will recover, you have the chance to bet at comparatively higher odds.
Over-by-over markets, when the next wicket will fall, how many runs in the next over — these kinds of smaller markets are also available in live betting. Keep in mind though: live odds change very quickly, so you need to watch closely.
Live betting is easier to do on the mcw 365 App — you can watch the scorecard and change markets directly at the same time.
A few practical tips for cricket betting
-
Choose markets by understanding the format: Match winner is straightforward in T20, but in Test a draw is possible so the calculation changes across three options. Focus on the markets you understand best in each format.
-
Risk increases with multi bets: In a three-selection multi bet, if all are correct the return is higher, but if any one is wrong the entire bet is lost. For newcomers it is better to start with single-market bets.
-
Live betting requires quick decisions: Odds change fast. Rather than rushing, decide in advance how much you want to stake.
-
Set your budget first: Decide how much you will bet on each match beforehand. If you lose on one match, it is better not to place larger bets to try to recover. Betting is entertainment — not a source of income.
-
Understand the effect of pitch and weather: On a batting-friendly pitch there is more chance of high scores; on a bowling-friendly pitch more wickets may fall. This basic knowledge is useful in over/under markets.
-
Play responsibly: If you feel betting is getting out of control, read about self-exclusion and limit setting on the responsible gaming page. For ages 21+ only.
Understanding the multi bet calculation
Say you are betting on three separate matches — decimal odds of 1.40, 1.60 and 1.70 respectively. In a multi bet you multiply all three odds:
1.40 × 1.60 × 1.70 = 3.81 (approximately)
A ৳100 bet returns ৳381 if all three are correct
If any one is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost.
Team A / Team B — for illustration only. Actual match odds will differ.
